College students: make your college break (spring, fall, Thanksgiving, winter) a life-long memory through experiential service learning and social justice awareness. Regardless of your objectives, you will be challenged and transformed right here in the heart of Charlotte.
Many college groups are interested in learning more about specific social injustices. We use our wide variety of ministry partners to tailor the groups schedule to fit their interests. A few examples of topics we offer are interfaith dialogue, afordable housing, sustainability and environmental justice, immigration, incarceration, police and civilain relationships, LGBTQ+ education, and substance abuse.
CROSS schedules sites based on social issues of the group’s choice, provides breakfast for the group’s stay, and offers optional evening programming by expert thinkers and activists. Unlike other programs, Alternative Break groups have the option to stay at our Cornerstone House which has a full kitchen, a cozy living room, and plenty of sleeping space.
Costs per person per week:
$35 a day/person – CROSS provides housing and arranges ministry sites and offers optional evening programming.
Meals Provided: The kitchen in Cornerstone will be stocked with continental breakfast for the duration of your stay.
