Cultivate
Faith • Hope • Love
A capital campaign for our second century of ministry
And now, faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
– 1 Corinthians 13:13
The Cultivate Capital Campaign is a monumental movement to sow faith, root hope, and reap love for the next generation. Through your contributions to the Cultivate Capital Campaign, we will:
-
- Renovate the B, C, and D buildings for our children’s ministry
- Address long-standing renovation and repair needs and expand the Columbarium
- Renovate the Cornerstone House for our CROSS ministry
- Create a Housing Fund to address the critical need for affordable housing in Charlotte
- Invest in our Outreach partners as they adapt to a rapidly changing environment

Phase One: Complete
Columbarium Expansion
The Columbarium provides a final resting place and prayerful environment that serves the needs and desires of our members. This area has been expanded to accommodate already-reserved space and to provide for future growth.
Cornerstone Renovation
The home at 1535 Queens Road has served us well over the years, housing partners, CROSS interns, and visiting global partners. By bringing the building up to code and providing essential updates, we are enhancing our commitment to being a teaching church.
Campus Chiller
Crucial repairs to the campus HVAC chiller, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems have been completed. This will enable Phase Two goals to be met.

Phase Two: In Progress
B, C, & D Buildings
Our thriving Children’s Ministry reflects the growing membership of young families at Myers Park Pres. Our B, C, and D Buildings are the most heavily-used spaces in the church, as they house the Weekday School’s Half-Day and Full-Day Programs in addition to our children’s Sunday School classes.
Renovations to these spaces are critical in order to expand access and to meet the growing demand among young families in our congregation. The first part of this phase is underway with the renovation of the D Building and adding the Connector between the C and D Buildings.
We are grateful for the work of the Buildings Committee and Weekday School Board in working to ensure that our classes remain operational during construction.
Project Scope
- Adding a Connector between the C and D buildings that will improve safety and better align the two buildings for multi-floor mobility
- More than double the full day program
- Interior restrooms for all classrooms
- Add and improve security systems with cameras and door access systems and add a fire sprinkler system
- New interior warm finishes for floors, walls, ceilings, lights, and cabinetry
- Upgrade all HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
- Add adult and visitor restrooms
- Replace the roof
- Fully renovate half-day and Sunday School classrooms including specials: children’s library, STEAM, music, and Godly play
Mission & Outreach
Current & Ongoing
Built on a foundation of trust and impact, the Cultivate Campaign has allowed us to live out God’s love and answer Christ’s call to love our neighbors as ourselves through vital and vibrant Outreach ministries.
Love Builds Up a Family
As of March 31, 2024, the Campaign has disbursed nearly $3.05 million to support education initiatives, affordable housing opportunities, and helping families on the verge of homelessness and food insecurity, especially in the Grier Heights neighborhood. Our partners in this effort include:
- Billingsville-Cotswold Elementary
- Crisis Assistance Ministries
- CrossRoads Corporation
- Communities in Schools
- Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays
- YWCA After School Program
We’ll continue sowing seeds of hope for families as disbursements extend through 2026. We’re committed to the long-range sustainability of our partners and will continue to support their efforts in our annual budget.
Love Builds Up a Home
In response to one of the most critical local needs, we are working to support and develop affordable housing projects in collaboration with trusted partners to combat chronic homelessness in Charlotte.
Roof Above – The Campaign has supported The Rise on Clanton, a former hotel now home to over 80 formerly homeless neighbors. It also offers wraparound services to provide dignity and love.
Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region – The Campaign will fund development for town homes on East Lane Drive alongside support from Brooks Sandwich House.
Hope Haven – The Campaign will support “The Forum,” a renovated conference center space offering low and no-cost critical common training programs for agencies city-wide.
Love Builds Up the World
Our global partnerships invite us to foster meaningful relationships with PC(USA) churches, international organizations, and various communities around the world, addressing issues of education, community development, and faith formation.
Democratic Republic of the Congo – Support for primary and higher education
El Salvador – Habitat for Humanity
Uganda – Bududa Learning Center
Cuba – Evangelical Theological Seminary & the Presbyterian Church in Remedios
Hungary – The Great Church (Support exclusively from the MPPC annual budget)

Next Steps:
Pray
Take a moment with God to pray for the success of the campaign and ask God to guide you in your involvement.
Give
Consider what your sacrificial three-year financial commitment will look like for this capital campaign. This gift is over and above the amount you already give to support the church ministry, mission, and operations.
Serve
How would God put your gifts to use during this time? Prayerfully consider serving our neighbors in need with love and compassion.
