Growing in Faith
Children and Their Families Ministry
We are celebrating 100 years of worship and fellowship together as a community of faith. This fall we will open a time capsule, celebrate in worship, learn more about our history, and pray about our future!
As we look toward the Centennial, we will consider together what it means to be a church. We all learned as children, “Here’s the church, here’s the steeple…” and we can do the motions and say the words by heart. But the church is so much more than a building, or a steeple, the church is a joyous and complex community of people.
This year in Children and Family Ministries (CFM) we will gather around the phrase “Here’s the Church…!” That phrase will prompt us to consider the great stories of scripture, the stories of church members, the stories of our mission partners, and the stories of our children have to share.
We hope this calendar will orient you to all the things CFM offers. Be sure to pick up our 2026-2027 CFM booklet at one of our kick-off events or next time you visit the church! You can meet our team members, learn about the ministries that are under the scope of CFM, and see many opportunities (and more to come!) for fun and formation this year.
“Here’s the church!” we will say together with joy and anticipation of what God will be about in and through us as we celebrate 100 years of life together here at Myers Park Presbyterian Church.
In Christ,

Outreach for Kids
Encourage your children to get their hands in the mud of missions as they learn tangible ways to show compassion to others.
Sprout Outreach
Sprout Outreach connects children (4 years through 2nd Grade) and their families to local Charlotte neighbors and mission partners. Sprout Outreach is designed to be a first experience in serving God and neighbor in the Charlotte community and beyond.
Mission Kids
Mission Kids is a great opportunity for our older elementary school kids (3rd – 5th grade) to make strides in leadership and service. Our hope is they will:
- Expand their sense of community beyond their church, home, and school;
- Kindle their curiosity about societal issues and injustices;
- Encourage meaningful connections as they step out in faith to serve God and neighbor;
- Cultivate cheerful hearts for service.
We are grateful for a great team of parents who support and guide our older elementary school kids as they learn what it means to serve Christ in our community. This group lays the foundation for Middle School and High School mission and outreach opportunities.
