CROSS Missions

For: Current 5th-7th graders
Dates: June 16-19, 2025
Times: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. daily
Cost: $125
Where: Myers Park Presbyterian Church

Embark on a journey of mission right here in Charlotte through our church’s CROSS program. This is a half-day program where youth will serve in different mission locations throughout the week. This is a great opportunity for rising 6th graders to jump into youth next Summer. It is very different from Mission Kids at VBS so it is the perfect step up for our middle school youth. They will live out their faith in action right in their own backyard. This is an incredible experience for our youth in middle school and much loved in previous years.

We will need a few parent volunteers and drivers for this week, contact Allison Billings at ABillings@myersparkpres.org.

High School VBS

For: Current 8th-12th graders
Dates: June 16-19, 2025
Times: 8:15 a.m.-12:45 p.m. daily
Where: Myers Park Presbyterian Church

VBS is an opportunity for our youth to guide our youngest church members as they learn stories from the Bible and all the ways God loves them.

Youth will guide a classroom of eager children, help lead recreation, music, and share the love of Christ during the amazing four-day experience.

Every year, 40 youth participate as classroom assistants, sharing their faith with the children of MPPC. It’s a great start to our summer as well as an opportunity to earn service hours.

Sailing Trip

For: Current 9th-12th graders
Travel Dates: June 20-27, 2025
Cost: $950
Where: Chesapeake Bay, Annapolis, MD

Each year, we take a pilgrimage with our high school youth. Pilgrimage is a faith practice and not just a travel experience. It invites us to savor every step of the journey of life, not just the destination. We are on a faith journey and we know we do not move through the world alone. A pilgrimage opens our eyes to people in our life that offer us encouragement and inspiration for this journey.

Sailing the Chesapeake Bay, youth will have the opportunity to learn to sail, quiet their minds, and deepen their faith. We will practice mindfulness daily. Mindful eating, mindful seeing, mindful listening. Mindfulness helps us be present, ease anxiety, notice grateful moments and connect with God. We will learn the art of centering prayer that we can carry back into our everyday lives.
