Generosity is how we respond to the One who has always provided, and always will.

Annual Stewardship

Your annual pledge is the foundation the whole church stands on, funding the ministry that happens every day, every week, every month, and every year.

From children growing in faith to serving our neighbors across Charlotte and around the world, when you commit for the year ahead, you make all of it possible.

Every Day

Daily devotions arrive in inboxes and Morning Prayer gathers people online to ground each day in scripture and community.

Bible studies, book groups, and acts of service remind us that God is at work.

Staff and pastors prepare worship, teach, care for members, and connect with the outreach partners who serve our neighbors.

Every Week

We worship God together. We marry couples, we host funerals, and sit with the grieving.

Children laugh through the halls of the Weekday School and we celebrate new life in all its forms.

Sunday School teachers prepare and musicians of all ages rehearse, forming faith across every age.

Outreach teams serve meals, organize donations, and care for our neighbors living on the margins.

Every Month

Lay leaders meet to prayerfully guide the church’s ministries. Youth gather for encouragement through mental health check-ins, dinners, and trips. Adults of every age deepen friendship and faith through Bible studies, Tuesdays Together, and support groups.

Members serve alongside our ministry partners across Charlotte.

We baptize infants and adults new to the faith and receive the Lord’s Supper.

Every Year

Children grow in faith through milestones and the joyfulness of Vacation Bible School.

Students are confirmed and mission teams serve alongside our partners around the world.

The pastors and worship staff step away to plan the year ahead, and together we journey through the seasons of the church year, discovering again the story of God’s love.

Every Decade

Leaders discern new opportunities as the needs of the world change.

Buildings are renewed so ministry can flourish.

Partnerships deepen and new ministries emerge.

Why pledge?

Practically speaking, a pledge is an estimate of your giving for the coming year, which funds everything we do as a faith community: from paying the salaries of our clergy and staff to supporting our outreach ministries, our pastoral care, our worship, our education programs, our music, and our facilities.

Spiritually speaking, a pledge is your response to the abundant blessings in your life. Pledging helps to transform your giving into a spiritual practice. With a pledge, you make a commitment to God and to your church. When you fulfill a pledge, it becomes a regular spiritual practice like attending worship, praying, studying, and serving the broader community.

How much should I pledge?

There is no right amount to pledge. The decision of how much to pledge should be personal and thoughtful. Each pledge is important and meaningful regardless of the amount.

Some may consider tithing, the practice of sharing ten percent of your income, the standard for Christian giving. That would be wonderful, but we recognize that not everyone is able to do that. The amount of your pledge is a personal decision that should reflect your life situation. We hope that as you consider your pledge, you reflect on the abundance of gifts God has entrusted to your care and give thanks for those gifts by giving back to the church.

How do I fulfill my pledge?

Contributions towards a pledge can be made from January 1 through December 31. There are many ways to fulfill a pledge, which you can see in the Ways to Give section below.

Ways to Give to MPPC

Cash or Check

Checks should be sent to the finance office with “pledge” written in the memo field.

Online

Make a one-time gift or set up a recurring gift.

Text to Give

Text 704-312-7540 and then an amount and fund (e.g. $100 GF2026). You can also support the Dedicated Offering by texting an amount and DO (e.g. $25 DO). 

If you need to update your payment method, text “edit” and follow the link to update your account.

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)

Also known as IRA Charitable Rollovers, QCDs are the savviest way for individuals age 70.5 or older to use their IRAs to maximize their charitable impact. Contact the financial institution that manages your IRA.

Donor Advised Fund (DAF)

A simple, flexible, and tax-efficient way to support the mission and ministries at the church. You can easily recommend a grant to MPPC directly from your fund.

Sunday Plate Offering

The plate offering that is passed in worship is distributed to different outreach partners, but that funding does not support the church’s operating budget. This model of giving is unique to Myers Park Presbyterian Church and is a significant funding source for our partners.

Gifts of Stock

Donating appreciated assets avoids federal capital gains taxes and provides a federal income tax deduction for the current market value of the gift.

    Endowment

    Myers Park Presbyterian Church was founded almost a century ago. To ensure that the congregation’s mission and ministry would exist in perpetuity, the Session established the endowment fund in the 1970’s. Because of our leaders’ forethought, gifts to the endowment have provided stability, flexibility, and allowed us to expand our capacity to serve others.

    The endowment fund is a permanent source of capital that is used to support the ministries of MPPC by enriching and deepening our programs with an eye to the future.
