Faith Formation Sundays

Sunday morning has traditionally been the time that the congregation gathers as a whole to engage in faith formation. While we have opportunities to engage all week long, Sunday morning remains a staple in our journey of faith as we connect in various classes. Join in for one class, or find a place that you might attend weekly! As we continue to live into the effects of COVID-19, we are being flexible with our class gatherings. Stay tuned for up-to-date information about the exact location of these classes this Fall 2020.

Searching for Community

As we begin the year with uncertainty around how we will join together, it is more important than ever to find the blessing of community. Join as we explore from various angles what it means to find community. We will have special guest speakers from some of our Outreach partners, who will share how they see community being created in their work. On September 20, Dr. Christena Cleveland will share about the difficulties of finding community, and on September 27 we will have members share about the blessings of where they have found community at MPPC.

Dates: September 13-27
Location: TBD

A Just Community

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said that Sunday morning is the most segregated time in our nation. What is it that keeps us separate? Using the book Disunity in Christ by Christena Cleveland as a resource, we will explore together the ways in which we are separated, and discern steps we must take to be united in Christ. We encourage you to purchase the book and join or create a book study group for this month. For more information on book groups contact Betsy Gantt (

Dates: October 4-25
Location: TBD

Kingdom Community

The hope for our present communities rests in the assurance of the Kingdom of God in the future. While we are very aware that our present communities are not perfect, this does not prevent us as Christians from living into the hope of the coming kingdom now. Come and learn about what exactly scripture and theology tells us about the Kingdom of God, and explore together ways in which we can live into this coming Kingdom.
Dates: November 1-22
Location: TBD
