The mission of the scouting program at Myers Park Presbyterian Church is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes. Recent changes to the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) program means that our scouting options are open to boys and girls. By welcoming everyone into the program, even more youth will have access to the character development and values-based leadership that Scouting promises.
Cub Scout Pack 55 is using a blended model, with boys and girls participating in activities together while having all-boy and all-girl small groups, known as Dens.
Middle and High School youth can join the Scouts BSA program using a linked troop model with all-boy (Troop 55) and all-girl (Troop 155) troops.
