Peace & Justice Committee
The Peace & Justice Committee offers engagement opportunities within our church community to discuss topics where our opinions differ, while assuring that we remain faithful to promoting peace and justice for all.
We also aim to create opportunities for meaningful change within our denomination, community, and the world. We focus on thoughtful, effective, systemic change rather than performative, reactive change.
If you’re interested in joining the Peace & Justice Committee, please email Glenn Boone.

Peace Pole
What’s the Peace Pole?
Myers Park Presbyterian Church has a Peace Pole located in the Circle Drive outside the prayer chapel. Our Peace Pole is a symbol of peace and a gathering place amid unrest. “May Peace Prevail on Earth” is inscribed in English, Spanish, French, and Hebrew. With God’s help, we recognize that peace is both a personal and collective pursuit.
This sacred space is always open for anyone who wishes to spend time in prayer – alone or with others – or to submit prayers to our prayer box, beautifully painted by local artist and church member Caroline Simas.
Together, we continue to seek peace in our hearts and in the world. May peace prevail on earth.
