Jubilee Store

Primary contact: Candice at candicecmj@gmail.com

Objective: To offer families of Charlotte Family Housing (CFH) an empowering, hopeful and dignified way of purchasing holiday gifts for their families by connecting them with the hospitality of MPPC, MPUMC and CFH Hope Teams.

Event Dates: Friday, December 8 and Saturday, December 9, 2017

Times: Friday from 5:30pm – 7:30pm and Saturday from 11am – 1pm.  Volunteer shifts begin 30 minutes prior to the store opening to allow for orientation before CFH families arrive and end one hour after store closing to allow for restocking and clean-up.

Additional Details:  The Jubilee Store is an event in which families enrolled in CFH programs have the opportunity to purchase gifts at a reduced rate for their family members.  Rather than relying on a handout, CFH families must actively engage in budgeting for, selecting and purchasing gifts for their families. CFH families have worked with their social workers to budget for buying gifts for their family’s needs.  CFH social workers will be on hand to assist families to stay within their budget as they shop.

Merchandise:  New, unwrapped toys and gifts are donated by church members and CFH volunteers.

Cost:  Gifts will be priced at 30% – 40% of the actual retail price.  All proceeds from the store will benefit CFH, thereby allowing the CFH families to support their own personal development.
