Sunday Worship is our opportunity to celebrate our connection not only to the body of Christ that is the church, but to God. Glorifying and enjoying God is our highest calling, and worship is the central place we do this.

People arrive at churches for many reasons and come with varied levels of desire for engagement and participation. Some look to “dive right in” and get involved as much as possible. Others prefer to take their time and get to know the rhythms of the church before they plug into anything in particular. We want to honor and accommodate your call no matter where you find yourself on that spectrum.

Outdoor Celebrate Worship

9 a.m., Circle Drive | Celebrate Bulletin

Worship al fresco! Come as you are and bring your own chairs to worship God in the splendor of creation. If rain is in the forecast, we will hold this service in Oxford Hall. We hope to move this service back inside in October.

Faith Formation

9:45 a.m., Campus-wide

Grab a coffee, meet with a Sunday School class, plug into a faith formation event, or join families on the playground. Check out opportunities for adults, children, and youth.

Indoor Sanctuary Worship

10:30 a.m., Sanctuary | Sanctuary Bulletin

Worship with traditional music, the Chancel Choir, and preaching from the pulpit. We'll still provide a basic live stream, but are removing the camera from the middle of the room!

The Circle Worship

5 p.m., Circle Drive | The Circle Bulletin

This Sunday evening service features simple music, participatory discussion elements, and is led by our Resident Pastors. Come with a sharing spirit!

What to Expect

First of all, welcome! It’s not always the easiest or most comfortable thing to visit a church for the first time. In short: we’re an inclusive, spirit-filled community of faith at work in Charlotte, NC and around the world.  

What are services like?

We have number of worshiping opportunities each Sunday, and have special worship services throughout the year. The section above is regularly updated with the latest info.

Traditional worship is just that – a reformed protestant service featuring hymns, prayer, scripture reading, and a sermon. Hymns are sung out of the red hymnbooks available in each pew. The specific songs are listed in the bulletin you’ll be handed on the way in. This service takes place in the Sanctuary and lasts for one hour.

Celebrate Worship is a more contemporary service, led by a band and featuring Christian praise music, prayer, scripture reading, and a sermon. We’ll have the words to the music on the screen, feel free to sing as much as you feel comfortable. This service takes place in the Circle Drive (rain location: Oxford Hall) and lasts for one hour.

Visitors won’t be singled out or made to feel uncomfortable in any way. There’s no altar call. Our pastors and church leaders are available at the doors after services to greet visitors and answer any questions.

What about my kids?

Childcare is coming back in the fall after our hiatus during the pandemic! Check with an usher at the door if you’re curious. Children are welcomed in each worship service as well. There are worship bags which include crayons and drawing sheets, and there is a children’s moment during which young people are invited to the front to hear a short message tailored to them.

What should I wear?

Wear what you feel comfortable in! The Traditional service tends to see folks a little more dressed up. Some wear suits while others have open collars and no tie. The Celebrate service is casual. We hope you’ll feel comfortable however you arrive.
