Book Conversations: Sermon Series
This fall, we invite you to read a book during each of our sermon series. On the last Sunday of the series, we will meet together to reflect and respond to the selected book for that series.
October 17 – Faith After Doubt
You are invited to read Faith After Doubt by Brian McLaren as we journey through the sermon series “God’s Faithfulness, Our Faith.” This book engages with the tension between faith and doubt, and how we in fact “grow in faith” through our doubts.
November 21 – Beyond Stewardship
You are invited to read Beyond Stewardship: New Approaches to Creation Care by David P. Warners as we journey through the sermon series “Cultivate.” This book touches on our relationship to the earth, and how our view of stewardship may be expanded through various lenses. The book is split into short engaging essays by different authors.
December 19 – Unto Us a Child Is Born
You are invited to read Unto Us A Child is Born by Tyler D. Mayfield as we journey through the Advent sermon series “Behold!” This book examines the writings of Isaiah through the original Jewish, contemporary Christian, and contemporary Jewish contexts. Enjoy having your mind opened to new understandings of familiar texts as you read along in this season.
