Love Builds Up

A Family

Mission: The Learning Collaborative’s mission is to prepare underserved children and their families to succeed in school by providing a tuition-free, high-quality preschool education through a unique partnership with our children, families, parents, staff and community.

Population Served: Preschool aged children of underserved families.

History: TLC was the result of a 2010 merger between Seigle Avenue Preschool (1986) and the Community Weekday School (1984). The Learning Collaborative holds a five star license and NAEYC accreditation. TLC combines 49 years of educating young children, and their pre-school graduates see an 84% skills gain throughout the school year.

Approach: TLC’s primary focus is enhancing oral language, early reading, and cognitive skills of preschool-age children while educating and modeling for parents how to be their child’s first teacher and strongest advocate. At The Learning Collaborative, they provide content-rich, developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessments along with continuing education and professional development for teachers and staff.
