Communion Preparation – Purchase and prepare communion items; four teams serve on a rotating monthly schedule. From a commitment standpoint, just one hour is required prior to the Sunday service from June through August; there is some additional work required on Saturdays from September through May.
Facilities Committee – Oversee our campus facilities’ maintenance and systems; the team meets evenings, the first Monday of each month.
Flower Ministry – Rearrange and distribute remaining wedding and funeral flowers to members living in retirement centers; typically takes place after church on as-needed basis.
Meal Ministry – Prepare delicious, well-balanced meals for others in times of need; this can be done at home on your own time.
Myers Park Presbyterian Cooks – Become a chef’s assistant; prepare food, set tables and serve. This can be an ongoing weekly assignment or schedule permitting, serving during the Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon/evenings.
Photographers – Document members on outreach projects, mission trips, and special church events; this is a flexible commitment.
Reception – Extend hospitality to church visitors, work on staff projects, sign for packages and answer the phones; basic training is provided for this need-based (when staff member is away) service opportunity. Weekday service times, based on your schedule, include two-hour shifts between 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sanctuary Keepers – Replenish the pew racks in the sanctuary on a rotating schedule. This task requires several hours, every other week, and as-needed for special services. There is no set time for this ministry and it can be tailored to your schedule.
Silver Polishers – Help keep the silver looking bright for our worship services, weddings, and funerals; this is a one-hour commitment with teams serving three times each year.
Stewardship – Plan and execute our financial stewardship emphasis, which includes publicity, member contact, and post-campaign follow-up. The team meets the first Monday of each month from 12-1 p.m.
Sunday Morning Tech Team – Help facilitate the audio/visual production of Sunday worship services. Run the audio console, lights, video cameras, projected materials, and live stream!
