Welcome!

We’re glad you’ve decided to check out Myers Park Presbyterian Church. We’re a faith community of all ages and have been worshiping together in Charlotte since 1926.

We’re committed to a ministry of worship, outreach, care, and growth; living out our love for Jesus Christ though it all. There are programs and activities for everyone, from young family playground parties to teams engaging society’s deepest injustices.

We’re excited you’re exploring our website and invite you to join us in-person if you’re seeking a supportive, welcoming community of faith.

What type of church is this?

Myers Park Presbyterian is a Christian church affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). We are committed to affirming the dignity and humanity of every person and strive to create a welcoming environment for all God’s children. Learn more about our church and what we believe.

What is worship like?

We have three services each Sunday: Traditional, Celebrate, and a special 20-minute online service we call Work in Progress.

All of our worship services are in the Reformed Tradition, which means they’re centered in Christ and worship God in community through prayer, song, scripture, and preaching. Here’s all the info on our services. Click through for more info on each!

Childcare and nursey

Childcare is available every Sunday! Check with an usher at the door if you’re curious.

Children are welcomed in each worship service as well. There are worship bags which include crayons and drawing sheets, and there is a children’s moment during which young people are invited to the front to hear a short message tailored to them.

What we’re up to

Discipleship:

Through a lifelong approach to faith formation, we grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. In our Weekday School, Children and Youth Ministries, Sunday School classes, youth group, Bible studies, women’s circles, book clubs and more, we learn to love God and our neighbors.

Hover over “Ministries” in our navigation to explore discipleship opportunities for children, families, youth, and adults of all ages.

Outreach:

We are committed to uplifting our shared community through partnerships with non-profit organizations and agencies. We engage our community through service and discipleship opportunities as well as direct financial support.

Our partnerships in the Congo, Cuba, El Salvador, Hungary, and Uganda allow us to respond to Jesus’ invitation to love God and love our neighbor as ourselves in a global context. We work hard to develop long-term relationships with integrity. Global partners lead the way and prioritize goals and projects.

Caring:

We are united both in our need for care and the desire to care for one another. We look to Christ as the model of compassion and as our guide in the work of the Christian faith. Some of the many ways we can walk alongside you during life’s trials include praying for and with you; providing an advocate for a health crisis or chronic illness; and offering confidential care through our Stephen Ministry, pastoral staff and Presbyterian Psychological Services.

Getting Involved

Worshipping God is the primary way we live out our faith, and there are many opportunities to go beyond:

  • Subscribe to email updates.
  • Consider joining the church through a New Member Class. These classes take place quarterly on Sunday mornings. Look for the next class in the Sanctuary bulletin, or contact us for the next class date and time.
  • Attend one of the many Sunday morning Discipleship Classes, which cover a variety of topics.
