THE World

EL SALVADOR MINISTRY TEAM

Our Mission

Further the vision of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), as stated by Hunter Farrell, Director of PC(USA) World Mission, of “connecting global partners and US Presbyterians for more faithful involvement in God’s mission.” We seek to grow, nurture, and sustain the long-lasting partnership our church has with the community designated in the “Building Hope in Ahuachapan Project.”

Our Partner

Habitat for Humanity El Salvador

Habitat El Salvador seeks to contribute to a world where all have a decent place to live. For more than 25 years this organization has providing housing solutions to low-income families in El Salvador. Since 2006, Habitat El Salvador has implemented community projects that include holistic components, in pursuit of a self-sustainable development.

How Love Builds Up

Myers Park Presbyterian has been in partnership with Habitat El Salvador since 2007. This partnership continues today through our El Salvador Ministry Team as well as MPPC’s Youth. Over the years, we’ve been blessed to travel to El Salvador several times to help build homes and deepen our relationships with our brothers and sisters in Ahuachapan through the long term community development projects we’ve been a part of. These projects include Housing, Education, Health, Income Generation, and Community Leadership.

Partnership Highlights
  • The “Strengthening the Getsemani Community” Project was carried out from January 2010 to December 2015.
  • The “Building Hope in Ahuachapan” Project was carried out from February 2016 to July 2021.
  • Through these projects MPPC has also supported the construction and operation of a health clinic, Casa de Salud and a preschool.
