We welcome Lauren Mulcahy to the Myers Park Presbyterian Church staff. Lauren joins us as our new Director of Development, Major Gifts, and Planned Giving.
Her primary responsibility will be the cultivation of a culture of faith and generosity at MPPC, most particularly through major gifts and planned giving, including our Legacy Partners initiative. This new position re-imagines development and stewardship efforts. Lauren will manage the creation of strategic stewardship initiatives, working with our Stewardship Council to achieve our goals for funding the mission and ministry of our congregation. In many ways, Lauren is coming home. She was baptized at Myers Park Presbyterian Church and grew up at Sardis Presbyterian. Upon graduating from Providence Day School she went to Elon University, where she graduated Cum Laude. After graduation, she moved to Washington, DC where she worked in development related positions with Sidwell Friends School. Lauren is moving to Charlotte from Fairfield, CT, where she served as the Director of Development at the Fairfield Country Day School. Her husband, Bill, is the new Head of Lower School at Charlotte Country Day, and they have two sons, Will (age 6) and Graham (age 4).
“I am thrilled to be back in Charlotte and am honored to join the MPPC community. From the first interview through my first few days on the job, I have been impressed with the palpable sense of community and the work the church is doing both internally and in the greater Charlotte area. I am grateful for the opportunity to help MPPC grow their fundraising initiatives. I look forward to working alongside the dedicated volunteers, meeting members, and seeing God’s work in action.” – Lauren
Lauren begins full-time office hours September 4, though we will be seeing her some this month. Please offer Lauren our welcome and support as she brings innovative ideas and new opportunities for our congregation.
