Chuck Jones, who has faithfully led Celebrate worship for four years, has submitted his resignation effective Sunday, April 1. Chuck will be serving in a leadership role for a local non-profit called Common Wealth Charlotte and needs to devote 100% of his time and energy to the work there. We are excited about this new opportunity and look forward to hearing how God is using Chuck in his new role. Meanwhile, we are very grateful for the contribution Chuck made to Myers Park Presbyterian through our Celebrate worship service and will miss serving alongside him on a weekly basis. He has promised that after a six month break we would have a chance to see him again as a guest leader if needed and we’ll look forward to that as well!
In the interim, Cameron Moore has agreed to act as our Celebrate Music Coordinator in a temporary capacity. Cameron has a full-time position at another church, so his physical presence will be limited to Sunday mornings but he will also be serving behind the scenes as part of our worship planning process. We are very thankful that we will have a strong weekend presence who is also able to provide leadership to our band and vocal teams for this service. Cameron will be leading three out of four weekends (ish) between April and August. We are hopeful this gives our search team time to organize and prepare for the next chapter God already has planned for us!
Please take a moment and thank Chuck for his faithful service if you have an opportunity over the next few weeks! We’d also love your partnership in prayer for this new chapter for our Celebrate team.
