Eleven Hours is a tightly constructed novel about one woman’s labor and delivery experience interwoven with the story of the nurse who attends her. I think the book captures the fear and uncertainty that pregnancy, labor and delivery evoke. Surprisingly, there are very few accounts of the birth experience in novels. Why?
I have interacted with the author by email and we will be able to have a conversation with her during our book club meeting. I hope you can join us on Thursday, December 7, at 12:30 pm at Myers Park Presbyterian Church. If you’ve read the book but can’t join us live for the conversation, join in here by sharing a comment.
