Job Posting: Half-Day Program Assistant Teacher, Weekday School

Myers Park Presbyterian Church is currently seeking candidates for the Weekday School Half-Day Program Teacher Assistant. For over six decades, the Weekday School has been a vibrant ministry of Myers Park Presbyterian Church, nurturing children in mind, body and spirit. The church opened its doors as a kindergarten in the fall of 1944 pioneering a program that would become a cornerstone of children’s education in Charlotte. Today, the Weekday School offers the highest quality preschool education in two distinct programs. Our Full-Day program – started in 2010 – is a five-star licensed program for infants through preschool age, currently serving 60 children with a teaching staff of 13. Our Half-Day program has grown from a small kindergarten of 45 students in 1944 to a busy preschool serving 230 children, toddlers through Transitional Kindergarten, with a teaching staff of 34. The Directors of these two Programs collaborate to offer the highest quality preschool education available.
The Teacher Assistant will implement curriculum that will help children grow in their identity as a child of God, have a sense of belonging, and be nurtured in discipleship as they grow in faith.
Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:
• North Carolina Early Childhood Credential
• Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in a licensed program;
• Experience working in a faith-based half-day preschool program preferred.

In return, we offer industry leading compensation.

Qualified applicants should email resume and salary requirements to Kimberly Hardy, Interim Human Resources Director, at khardy@myersparkpres.org.
